Kuningan Terkini – Berawal dari kepedulian akan kebudayaan sunda yang semakin terlindas oleh jaman, Deri Akbar membentuk Paguyuban Saung Indung pada tahun 2013 lalu. Berbekal tekad dan kemauan yang keras, warga Perum Pesona Mutiara, Kasturi, Kuningan ini berhasil mengembangkan Paguyuban Saung Indung menjadi 4 divisi. Diantaranya, divisi pakaian, musik, sejarah, dan ekonomi kreatif.
“Awal mulanya terbentuk paguyuban Saung Indung ini, karena saya prihatin akan kebudayaan lokal yang semakin tergilas oleh budaya modern,” katanya kepada Kuningan Terkini, Kamis (24/11/2016).
Kekhawatiran akan kurangnya perhatian pada budaya lokal, khususnya sunda kata Deri menjadi awal kebangkitan paguyuban Saung Indung. “Disini kami mengajarkan dan membimbing, khususnya generasi muda untuk mengenal budayanya sendiri," ucapnya.
Dalam kurun waktu tiga tahun sejak Paguyuban Saung Indung dibentuk sambung Deri, sudah banyak acara seni terutama musik, baik lokal maupun nasional yang diikuti.
“Musik yang disajikannya sarat akan budaya sunda, salah satunya karinding,” pungkasnya.(Gilang)
